Why Should I Replace Ron Turner?

I campaigned for the job about 3/4 of the way through the season for some obvious reasons. A) I have an enormous ego, and B) Ron Turner sucks at his job. However, I am still not sure what the best pitch line to the Bears would be.
All I got is something along the lines of:
“Hey, I’d do it for minimum wage so at least you’d finally get your money’s worth”
or
“At least my playbook includes plays designed after the Clinton administration”
….. so you can see why I need help. Post your suggestions in the comment section, on the boards, or email them to hosts@bearscast.com and see if you can win a free t-shirt.

Why I Should Replace Ron Turner:
1. My offensive schemes do not require a quarterback with any marketable skill. Actually, my offensive schemes are at their best when the quarterback’s rating hovers around their age.
2. I prefer running backs that only average about 3.5 yards per carry. After all, you do get four downs and last time I checked, 3.5 x 4 = first down. Unless of course the running back can’t gain any positive yardage on 3rd and 4th down, but hey, that’s what you have a punter for. I mean, c’mon, what’s the sense in paying a punter if you’re not going to use him.
3. Wide Receivers and Tight Ends. This has always been a tough area in my offensive schemes. What a bunch of prima donnas! Amway’s, this is the Chicago Bears, when was the last time that they EVER had a good wide receiver and as for tight ends… Ditka is busy.
4. Offensive Line. I tend to like older offensive lines. Being in my 40’s, I can relate to them. The younger guys you just can’t get through to them. Also, talent isn’t everything – you can usually pick an offensive lineman late in their years fairly cheap and we are heading towards a recession. Also, last time I checked, the Bears organization are somewhat a group of misers or is that the Bulls? I always get the two confused. Never mind, I digress. The bottom line is that offensive lineman are a dime a dozen. I can get mine through the draft. What’s that? Jerry doesn’t like drafting offensive players? Let me get back to you…
5. Finally, being a long time Bear fan, I am a strong believer that the best offense is a REALLY GOOD DEFENSE! If the defense does their job and scores a couple of defensive touchdowns each game, we should be golden! Why should the offense be expected to carry the ENTIRE TEAM! Also, if the defense was doing their job and stopping the other team from scoring, nobody would be as worried about the offense!!! One last item, let me remind you we do have a special teams unit with ANOTHER kicker (the one that does field goals). Why should he collect a check and not do anything? Get him out there for one, two, or maybe seven field goals per game!!!
Regards,
A Devout Bears Fan!
